Every new roof installation begins with a thorough survey of the existing structure. We check the condition of the roof timbers, fascias, soffits and any existing felt or underlay before stripping begins. If we find rotten timbers or damaged rafters, we flag this before work starts and agree a revised price — there are no surprise charges mid-job.

Once the old roof is stripped, we install a breathable roofing membrane, new treated timber battens and the chosen tile or slate. Ridge tiles, hip tiles and valleys are all finished to a high standard, with lead or GRP used for flashings around chimneys, dormers and abutments. All waste is removed and the site left clean and tidy at the end of each day.

We source materials from trusted UK suppliers and can match existing tiles on extensions or partial re-roofs where required. For natural slate, we work with both Welsh and Spanish slate depending on the property and budget. For clay plain tiles, we can source handmade tiles to match period properties. Scaffolding is required for all new roof installations and is arranged and managed by us as part of the project. We will give you a realistic timeline before work begins — a typical semi-detached house takes three to five days once scaffolding is in place.
